- A ribber is a device attached to a knitting machine that allows for the creation of ribbed fabrics. It works in conjunction with the main knitting carriage and helps to create different textures and patterns in your knitted pieces. Workshop 5th 6th April.

Understanding Your Ribber
- This workshop will help you to understand your ribber. The ribbing attachment is the one piece of equipment that seems to fill a lot of machine knitters with dread. That doesn't have to be the case and you can learn to love your ribber. Once you have mastered the basic techniques you will wonder how you ever knitted without it. This course is suitable for machine knitters who have had some experience using a flat bed machine or have taken the beginner course and had some experience machine knitting since completing the beginner course.

What do we cover?
1.Attaching and setting up your ribber. You will need to have your machine manual.if you don't have your manual find free downloads online at machineknittingetc.com
2.Understanding the basics: The settings on the carriage and ribber bed
3. Casting on, and basic rib trims, Casting off, full needle rib.
4. Ending with a rib, separate rib trims, perfecting edges, mixed rib trims,
5. Using a ribber for knitted fabrics, English Rib, Fisherman's Rib, Racking, Circular Knitting
